Abstract

Turnover intention describes the employee's intention to change jobs, which can increase the company's cost burden. Meanwhile, work stress because of an individual's interaction with their work can reduce motivation, concentration, and performance, negatively impacting productivity and occupational health. This study aims to find out and analyze the effect of work stress on turnover intention in employees of PT. Royal Abadi Sejahtera, West Bandung Regency. The study used a quantitative method with a sample of 88 people from a population of 698 employees. Data was collected through questionnaires and analyzed using simple linear regression. The results showed a constant of 29.573 and a regression coefficient of 0.532, which means that every 1% increase in work stress would increase turnover intention by 0.532. An R² value of 0.317 showed that 31.7% of the variation in turnover intention was influenced by work stress, while 68.3% was influenced by other factors outside the study. The t-test produced a significant value of 0.000 < 0.05 with a t-count of 6.320 > a t-table of 0.1663, so it can be concluded that work stress has a positive and significant effect on turnover intention. Thus, effective workload management, good communication, and increased employee commitment are needed to reduce turnover intention.
