ELASTISITAS PENYERAPAN TENAGA KERJA DI KOTA CIMAHI PADA TAHUN 2015-2019

Abstract

Economic development is a series of efforts in an economy to develop its economic activities with the aim of achieving expected developments. As an implication of this development, it is hoped that employment opportunities will increase, and the level of income will increase and the prosperity of the community will be higher. Regional economic development is a process in which local governments and their communities manage existing resources and form a partnership pattern between local governments and the private sector to create new jobs and stimulate the development of economic activities in the region (Arsyad, 2010: 108). Produk Domestik Regional Bruto Cimahi at constant prices in 2010 in value steadily increased over 2015 -2019. However, if you look at the growth rate, the Produk Domestik Regional Bruto of Cimahi City will decrease in 2017. This shows that the economic growth of the City of Cimahi has continued to contract in the last 4 years. Economic growth has a relationship with the rate of employment. The level of elasticity in 2015-2019, the labor elasticity of Cimahi City was mostly in the inelastic category, only in 2017 the category was elastic. This means that the average economic growth during that period did not really encourage the response to the growth in the number of workers. The percentage of growth in employment is less than the percentage of growth the economy.
